Review: Broncos 3 things to watch

THE GAZETTE

1. Rookie Tom Brandstater played pretty well for the second straight week, despite a late interception in the first half and too many field goals instead of touchdowns. Brandstater completed 13-of-22 passes for 167 yards in an efficient first half.

2. The pass defense was far better in the preseason finale. In the first half, top two Cardinals quarterbacks Kurt Warner and Matt Leinart combined to complete 3-of-11 passes for 52 yards. Denver also got two interceptions before halftime.

3. Among the stars of the night with roster cuts looming were running back Darius Walker, receiver Brandon Lloyd and cornerback Jack Williams. The Broncos have to cut down from 75 players to 53 by Saturday.
