Air Force vs. New Mexico men's basketball preview
Tonight, 6 p.m., Clune Arena
New Mexico (15-7, 3-4 MWC), last game: 86-77 win vs. BYU
About the Lobos: The Falcons might have to contend with a small lineup from New Mexico that worked very well in an upset win against BYU. Over the final 9:02, the Lobos hit 5-of-6 3-point shots (and 9-of-11 attempts overall) to beat BYU. The Lobos played three or four shooters with forward Drew Gordon playing the post. Falcons coach Jeff Reynolds said he figures to see that look again tonight.
Air Force (12-8, 3-4 MWC), last game: 66-65 overtime win at TCU
About the Falcons: Center Taylor Broekhuis was in a walking boot on Sunday, but X-rays on his injured foot were negative, coach Jeff Reynolds said. Reynolds said Broekhuis would be a game-time decision for tonight’s game. The Falcons’ starting center is averaging 9.3 points per game this season. The injury seemed to affect him at TCU, when he was held without a point.
