WEST POINT, N.Y. • This is how you bust a six-game winless streak. Jason Fabian scored twice and Air Force never trailed in a 4-2 victory over Army, their first at Army since 2004.

“I couldn’t be more proud of our guys,” Falcons coach Frank Serratore said. “We had to overcome some adversity and kill some penalties tonight and we did.

“We have been beating ourselves the last few weeks. ... Tonight we didn’t have to overcome ourselves. Last night, we took a step in the right direction and tonight we took another one. I liked what I saw tonight.”

Air Force (11-7-5, 8-4-4 Atlantic Hockey) finished with a 28-18 advantage in shots on goal and goalie Jason Torf picked up his first victory since returning from injury.

The Falcons took a 2-0 lead to the third period after goals by John Kruse and Paul Weisbarber, each getting their second goals of the weekend.

Kyle Maggard scored the first of his two goals at 2:32 of the period. But Fabian answered five minutes later and added an empty-netter in the final minute. Maggard scored with 7 seconds left.
