Denver Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari (8) from Italy walks gingerly back to the line to shoot free throws after injuring his ankle against the Houston Rockets during the third quarter of an NBA basketball game on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, in Denver.

Nuggets' Gallinari could be out at least a month, coach says

DENVER POST

The Nuggets' top scorer Danilo Gallinari could miss at least a month, after X-rays found a chip fracture in his left foot, according to coach George Karl.

Gallo will remain in a walking boot for three to five days. Treatment will be for a significant ankle sprain. Today's MRI determined that the chip was from an injury from before Gallinari played basketball.

It could have been worse. In late January, the Bucks' Andrew Bogut suffered a similar injury to Gallinari - landing on his left ankle and fracturing it. Bogut is out for 8-12 weeks.
