When it rains, it pours for CC's offense

THE GAZETTE

Colorado College can score after all.

It sounds simplistic, but the Tigers had started to doubt that fact after averaging only 1.8 goals in the five games prior to Saturday's meeting with the Fighting Sioux.

Right wing Eric Walsky more than doubled that average, scoring four goals in the Tigers' 7-4 win over North Dakota.

Four goals are the most by a CC player since left wing Scott McCulloch netted four against Alabama-Huntsville in October 2006.

After scoring a power-play goal - one of three collected by CC - in the first period, Walsky notched two goals in a 28-second span of the second, the quickest pair of goals by the Tigers this season.

The second was a "saucer pass" into the upper-right corner, he said.

"I didn't even shoot it that hard, I just tried to throw it on net," Walsky said. "It somehow found its way through."

Lampl attends series
Cody Lampl, a forward and defenseman who was suspended for a year last January for violating CC's student conduct policy, attended the series against North Dakota.

"We anticipate that he will be back in January," athletic director Ken Ralph said.

If Lampl returns in two months, he would use his final season of NCAA eligibility.

Harrison school district closer to pay for performance for teachers
Should teacher pay be based on performance?
Yes. Teachers should be rewarded for good work, and poor performers should be weeded out.
No. Pay for performance is just a back-door way of blaming teachers for other problems in the education system.
It depends on what "performance" means. It's good if there's a fair measurement of performance.
Undecided.
