Marshall suspended for three games

THE GAZETTE

Denver Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall will be suspended three games for violating the NFL's conduct policy, although the suspension could be dropped to two games if he undergoes counseling, the NFL Network reported.

Marshall has been arrested three times since the start of 2007. He met with commissioner Roger Goodell in New York last month about his off-field issues and has been awaiting word on any punishment as he practices during training camp.

Marshall can continue to practice with the team but will miss the start of the season, the report said.

The Broncos' first two games are against division rivals. They start the season Sept. 8 at Oakland and then play San Diego at home on Sept. 14. Denver's third game is against New Orleans at home on Sept. 21.
