Broncos notes: Marshall penciled in as second string on depth chart
Marshall second string
When the Denver Broncos released their first depth chart Monday, Brandon Marshall wasn’t listed as one of the three starting receivers.
Marshall, who is upset about his contract and has been out since Aug. 2 with a leg injury, was listed behind Jabar Gaffney. Brandon Stokley and Eddie Royal were the other two starters. Marshall was a starter for the AFC in last season’s Pro Bowl.
Also on the depth chart, Correll Buckhalter was the No. 1 tailback ahead of LaMont Jordan. Buckhalter and Jordan, who missed practice Monday with an apparent ankle injury, have been splitting time as the top tailback in practice. Rookie Knowshon Moreno was listed as fourth-team tailback, also behind Peyton Hillis.
Royal was not listed at all on the depth chart at kickoff or punt returner. Alphonso Smith was the starter at both. Mario Haggan spent his second straight day with the starters at left outside linebacker and was listed as the starter at the position.
Harris hurt
Right tackle Ryan Harris went down during Monday’s practice with what appeared to be a right arm injury. He grabbed his arm in pain, then was escorted off the field by trainers. Tyler Polumbus finished the practice at right tackle.
“He hasn’t seen any doctors or anything like that,” McDaniels said. “We will see how that goes once he sees some medical people.”
