Broncos: Three things to watch against Oakland

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

THE GAZETTE

Three things to watch for in Sunday's Broncos game at Oakland:

1. OAKLAND WILL TRY TO LEG OUT VICTORY AGAINST DENVER
The Broncos are giving up only 70 rushing yards per game, and the Raiders definitely are a running team. Oakland will test Denver’s run defense with talented backs Darren McFadden and Michael Bush. If the Raiders can’t run, their chances of winning will be slim.

2. IN SEARCH OF PROTECTION
Denver’s offensive line is one of the best in the league, especially when it comes to protecting the quarterback. But the Raiders have upgraded their defensive line with former Patriots end Richard Seymour. Winning the line of scrimmage and keeping quarterback Kyle Orton clean are tough tasks for the Broncos’ line today.

3. RUSSELL CAN’T CROW AFTER PERFORMANCE
The last time Denver faced Raiders, quarterback JaMarcus Russell, he completed 10-of-11 passes for 152 yards in a win. Russell has had three games with a 100 quarterback rating or better in his career. Two came against Denver. Russell is struggling, and the Broncos need to keep it that way.
