Broncos' needs: Quarterback
Denver seems complacent with Kyle Orton and Chris Simms at quarterback, at least for this season. What the team needs to decide is whether they want to select one of this year's available quarterbacks or re-evaluate the position next offseason.
The Broncos could use a late-round pick on a quarterback - that was the Patriots' formula for success when Josh McDaniels was there, and McDaniels said there are many good quarterbacks in this year's class. The real intrigue will come if USC's Mark Sanchez, left, falls to the 12th pick. It's hard to imagine the Broncos, with many holes on defense, trading multiple picks to move up to draft Sanchez, but they'll have an interesting call if Sanchez slips. Most likely, Denver will not have a chance to pick Sanchez, but will use a late-round pick on a quarterback, hoping to find the next Tom Brady or Matt Cassel.
