Broncos' injury report is mixed blessing

THE GAZETTE

ENGLEWOOD – Going into Sunday’s game against Dallas, the Denver Broncos are unlikely to be at full health.

Guard Ben Hamilton (hamstring), cornerback Alphonso Smith (ankle) and linebacker Spencer Larsen (shoulder) all missed practice for a third straight day. All three have very little chance to play.

The good news for Denver is running back Peyton Hillis (head) and offensive tackle Ryan Harris (shoulder) did participate in practice for a second straight day. Receiver Kenny McKinley also returned to practice, after missing Thursday with an illness.

If Hamilton can’t play, Russ Hochstein will start at left guard.

“If he can’t play, we’ve got guys that can fill in,” McDaniels said about Hamilton.

Jack Williams would replace Smith as the nickel cornerback.
