All is quiet on Rockies' Hurdle front

Comments 0

THE DENVER POST

The morning after the Rockies' lopsided sweep, all remains quiet on manager Clint Hurdle's status, according to multiple major league sources.

The Dodgers broomed the Rockies at Coors Field on Wednesday, outscoring them 31-13 in the series and sending them a season-high 10 games under .500. The ugly losses - every game featured a big inning from the Dodgers - intensified speculation that Hurdle might be let go. While blaming themselves for the poor performance, multiple players said they would not be surprised if a move was made soon.

That talk was based on the team's home (7-13) and overall record (18-28).

The Rockies are off today, and begin a three-game home series against San Diego on Friday. The Padres have won 11 of their past 12 games.
