There will be plenty of bull to go around at this summer’s Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo.

Drawing 100 bulls from all over the state, the rodeo will feature two bull-riding competitions for the first time in its 67-year history, organizers announced Wednesday.

Held on July 11-15 at Norris-Penrose Event Center, the rodeo will also feature steer wrestling, bareback bronc riding, tie-down roping, saddle bronc riding, team roping, women’s barrel racing, wild-cow milking and a children’s event, mutton busting.

Western heritage demonstrations by blacksmiths and Southern Ute dancers will take place outside of the arena, along with carnival rides.

Tickets cost $10, $15 and $27 for reserved seats and are available through TicketsWest at 1-866-464-2626 or online at ticketswest.com. Discounts are available for groups, seniors, military and children. A portion of proceeds will benefit military charities.

The Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo is one of the last four sanctioned events on the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association tour before the National Finals Rodeo, held in December.

Harrison school district closer to pay for performance for teachers
Should teacher pay be based on performance?
Yes. Teachers should be rewarded for good work, and poor performers should be weeded out.
No. Pay for performance is just a back-door way of blaming teachers for other problems in the education system.
It depends on what "performance" means. It's good if there's a fair measurement of performance.
Undecided.
