Eddie Royal had 10 catches Sunday against the Patriots.

Broncos notes: Royal appearance

Eddie Royal came alive and Brandon Marshall continued to play like a Pro Bowl player on Sunday.

The Denver Broncos’ top two receivers combined for 18 catches against New England.

Royal, who had eight catches in the Broncos’ first four games, had 10 catches for 90 yards.

“That is kind of the way this offense goes,” coach Josh McDaniels said. “We don’t force it to anybody and they told us to throw it to Eddie Royal.”

Marshall had eight catches for 62 yards, including two touchdowns. Add Jabar Gaffney’s six-catch, 61-yard day and the Broncos’ receivers were a big part of the win.

“It’s got to be tough for the opposing defense to focus on one guy,” quarterback Kyle Orton said.

Moreno fumbles
Knowshon Moreno, who was making his first career start, lost a fumble for the second time in two weeks. McDaniels said he isn’t concerned.

“I’m worried about anybody that puts the ball on the ground, but I felt comfortable with him,” McDaniels said. “He normally doesn’t do that.”
