Sky Sox moves flagship to new sports station
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The Colorado Springs Sky Sox have cut a deal to make Sports Animal 1300 AM its flagship station for next season.
The station, which debuts its new format Thursday, is replacing 1460 AM as the club’s flagship.
“We know our fans will be just as excited as we are to have our new radio home on the only Colorado Springs station that specializes in sports,” Sky Sox president and general manager Tony Ensor said in a release.
All regular and postseason games will be broadcast with Dan Karcher, the voice of the Sky Sox.
“We decided that bringing back the Sports Animal and sports radio was important for this community and to have the Colorado Springs Sky Sox as the cornerstone of the programming is a fantastic fit for everyone,” said Mike Knar, general manager of Citadel Broadcasting of Colorado Springs and station owner.
