Loss moves Tigers down in one poll
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A weekend home split with Alaska-Anchorage dropped Colorado College (10-3-1, 7-2-1 league) to No. 6 in the U.S. College Hockey Online poll while the Western Collegiate Hockey Association-leading Tigers remain ranked No. 5 in the USA Hockey/USA Today weekly poll.
CC has a home-and-home series with No. 2 Denver (9-4-1, 7-2-1) at 7:37 p.m. Friday at World Arena and at 7:07 p.m. Saturday at Magness Arena in Denver. CC is 7-0-6 in its past 13 meetings versus DU and has won the Gold Pan trophy the past three years.
Denver remains ranked at No. 2 in both polls after a home split with St. Cloud State last weekend.
The 2009 national runner-up Miami Redhawks remain No. 1 in both polls, followed by Denver and North Dakota.
Bemidji State is rated No. 4 in the USA Hockey poll ahead of CC while the USCHO rankings has Quinnipiac at No. 4 and Bemidji at No. 5 ahead of the Tigers. Quinnipiac is No. 6 in the USA Hockey poll. Bemidji moved up to No. 4 after a victory against No. 1 Miami and a loss to unranked Ohio State.
