Bears-Broncos: Three things to look for
Comments 0 | Recommend 01. Passing a test
It’s hard to ignore Jay Cutler’s return, but it is a preseason game. More important for the Broncos will be playing well against Cutler defensively. Seattle’s Matt Hasselbeck threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns in a half against Denver last week. The Broncos need to tighten up their pass defense.
2. It’s better to receive
With Brandon Marshall’s suspension in effect through the preseason, more pressure will be on Denver’s receivers to prove the team won’t miss him. Eddie Royal, Jabar Gaffney and Brandon Stokley have all had good moments in training camp and the preseason.
3. Time to impress fans
There’s no more preseason quarterback controversy with Chris Simms sidelined with an ankle injury. Kyle Orton won’t lose his starting spot, but fans would feel better if Orton had a good game for the second straight week, in his home preseason debut.
