Three things to watch on Monday: Broncos at Chargers

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

1. Long shots can’t hit
The Broncos have been great defending deep passes. Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers throws one of the best deep balls in the NFL, and won’t be afraid to take some shots down the field. Denver’s defensive backs haven’t been out of position often, and can’t afford to miss any assignments tonight.

2. Unfamiliar middle names
The Chargers are without Pro Bowl players at nose tackle (Jamal Williams) and center (Nick Hardwick) because of injury. The Broncos should be able to control the middle on offense and defense, and if they do it will be an edge running the ball or stopping San Diego’s backs.

3. Hold everything
The Chargers are an aggressive defense that likes to get turnovers. Kyle Orton has to continue his mistake-free ways, and Knowshon Moreno has to put his fumbling issues behind him because San Diego’s defense will try to strip the ball at every chance.
