Wright State jumps on top early, drops Air Force

DAYTON, Ohio — Vaughn Duggins scored 22 points to lead Wright State to a 76-61 win over Air Force on Wednesday night, snapping a four-game losing streak.

Troy Tabler and N’Gai Evans added 19 apiece as the Raiders (4-5) jumped out to an 18-9 lead with 12:22 left in the first half and maintained at least a seven-point advantage the rest of the way.

Evans scored eight points early in the second to lead the Raiders on a 13-0 run at the start of the half, taking a 53-28 lead — their largest of the night.

The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the Falcons (5-2), who shot 22 for 36 from the floor (61.1 percent), but turned it over 20 times and allowed 20 second-chance points to Wright State.

Derek Brooks came off the bench to lead Air Force with 13 points and seven rebounds.

Wright State snapped a four-game losing streak with the win.
