1. Attack their weakness
Expect quarterback Kyle Orton to be busy today. The Broncos like to exploit the opponent’s weakness in each game, and the Ravens are much better against the run. Denver is likely to spread the field often and test Baltimore’s cornerbacks, who have been shaky. The Ravens rank 23rd in the NFL against the pass.
2. Reed the defense
Broncos coach Josh McDaniels compared an Ed Reed interception to a punt return, which is pretty accurate. Whenever Reed, Baltimore’s elite safety, gets the ball, he has a chance to score. Reed likes to freelance, and Orton has to be aware where he is at all times.
3. Ravens doom-ed
Linebacker Elvis Dumervil is the Broncos’ biggest playmaker on defense, and the Ravens have a bit of an issue at tackle. Starting left tackle Jared Gaither is questionable with a neck injury and a rookie, Michael Oher, is the other starting tackle. The Broncos will move Dumervil around to get the most advantageous matchup.
